Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp said he is certain he will return for the 2024 season, despite uncertainty surrounding his future with the team.
Kupp expressed confidence in his ability to contribute to the team, saying “I feel like I’ve got a lot of good football left in me.” He acknowledged rumors that circulated during the trade deadline and emphasized that he had no control over what will happen this offseason.
The 2022 contract extension signed by Kupp still has two years remaining, with $5 million guaranteed through 2025. If released without a post-June 1 designation, the Rams would absorb significant dead money due to prorated signing bonus and roster bonuses.
Kupp’s best season came in 2021, when he achieved the receiving triple crown and was named Super Bowl LVI MVP. This year, he had 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 regular-season games, despite missing four games after an ankle injury.
The receiver described the season as “frustrating” due to the ups and downs of the offense and his own personal struggles with production. He emphasized that there were external factors outside of his control, such as a lack of consistency from other players.
Kupp concluded by saying he was happy with his performance on film and felt he executed his job despite an uncertain outcome.
