Corteva Agriscience is splitting its seed and crop protection businesses into two independent companies, SpinCo and New Corteva. Johnston could become the global headquarters of a leading seed giant again if SpinCo decides to establish its headquarters there. Paul Schickler, who oversaw seed operations at DuPont Pioneer before joining Corteva, says it would be logical for the new seed business to be based in Johnston due to its connection with Pioneer Hi-Bred Corn Co., which was founded by future US Vice President and Secretary of Agriculture Henry A. Wallace. The split aims to create two distinct market leaders with farmer-centric approaches, technology innovations, and tailored capital allocation priorities. Analysts believe this move could give investors better choices and boost the growth outlook for both companies.
