Costco Switches Back to Coca-Cola in Food Courts: Mixed Reactions

Costco has switched back to Coca-Cola products in its food court after more than a decade of serving Pepsi, sparking mixed reactions online. While some customers are happy to see Coke again (with one user calling it “so retro”), others lament the loss of Pepsi and debate which drink they prefer as part of the $1.50 hot dog and soda combo.

“We’re so back,” one user wrote in a comment.
“That $1.50 hotdog and drink is about to get a lot more visits from me,” another said.
“Hot dog and drink gonna hit different now,” a third added.

On the other hand, many customers defend Pepsi’s place:
“That sucks, love coke and Pepsi, but Costco hotdog/pizza and Pepsi go hand in hand,” one TikToker shared.
“I’ve always been more of a Coke guy but idk if there’s anything better than Costco pizza with Pepsi,” another user wrote.
“Shoutout to the handful of us who prefer Pepsi over Coca-Cola,” someone added, expressing a sad but loving connection to their favorite drink combination.

In a recent confirmation at Costco’s annual shareholder meeting, CEO Ron Vachris stated that the company will convert its food court fountain business back to Coca-Cola this summer.
“The decision was not easy for us,” Vachris explained during his presentation. “But Coke is here to stay.”

This switch marks another victory for Coca-Cola, which currently holds more than double the market share of Pepsi in the U.S. soft drink industry. With nearly 19.2% of the carbonated soft drink market share compared to Pepsi’s 8.31%, Coca-Cola remains a dominant force in the beverage industry.
