Couple Forced to Spend Flight with Dead Body After Staff’s Protocol Error

A couple on a Doha-bound flight from Melbourne, Australia had to endure several uncomfortable hours sitting next to a deceased woman after the airline’s crew followed their protocol for handling medical emergencies in error. The couple, Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin, told Australian news outlet “A Current Affair” that staff members placed the deceased woman in the same seat as them when they couldn’t move her to business class.

The incident occurred when the woman collapsed near the couple on her way back from the restroom. Despite the staff’s initial efforts to revive her, she was unable to be saved. The couple said they were not offered alternative seats despite having empty ones available in their row.

The airline has since apologized and expressed condolences to the deceased woman’s family, stating that the safety and comfort of all passengers is its top priority. However, the couple felt that the airline should have taken more steps to address their concerns after the incident.
