Cowboys Clinch 7-8 Record, End Playoff Hopes

The Dallas Cowboys’ playoff hopes were officially ended when the Washington Commanders beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the final seconds of their game. The loss marked a reality check for the team, which had been holding onto its playoff streak despite numerous injuries.

Without key players like Dak Prescott, Zack Martin, and DeMarcus Lawrence due to injury, the Cowboys were already struggling. Adding linebacker Eric Kendricks’ calf injury to the mix made it even tougher. Despite this, they managed to pull off a 26-24 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, thanks in part to Cooper Rush’s career-high 226 yards passing.

Ezekiel Elliott scored a touchdown, and Jourdan Lewis intercepted Baker Mayfield’s pass in the end zone. DaRon Bland sealed the win with a game-clinching fumble with just minutes left on the clock.

Coach Mike McCarthy attributed the team’s performance to its pride, character, toughness, and resilience. Owner Jerry Jones praised the players for giving it their all, despite the circumstances. With two games remaining, the Cowboys have something to play for – their own identity and sense of purpose.
