Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott expressed confidence in his teammate Micah Parsons, despite the edge rusher’s prolonged contract negotiations with the team. Parsons has yet to practice this summer and is holding out for a contract extension. Owner Jerry Jones has dismissed Parsons’ trade request.
Prescott described the situation as “similar” to previous years when players have taken extended periods of time to negotiate contracts. He believes people can take it in their own way, but acknowledges that Parsons’ absence could be a distraction. However, Prescott maintains his confidence in Parsons’ readiness to play.
Trevon Diggs, one of Parsons’ closest friends on the team, is uncertain about Parsons’ availability for the September 4 opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. Diggs believes Parsons has been working out on his own and wants to return to the team. He expressed Parsons’ commitment to being with the Cowboys, describing it as “home” and “family.”
