Cowboys Eye Quarterback Upgrade in 2025 Draft After Dak Prescott Extension

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott signed a record-breaking $231 million contract extension in September, but the team may be looking for a new signal-caller after backup Cooper Rush joined the Baltimore Ravens. FOX NFL Sunday pundit Terry Bradshaw made a major U-turn on Prescott, suggesting Rush should be the starter when he returns from injury.

Bradshaw’s comments were a surprise given his previous praise of Prescott as a “huge fan” and his expectation that the Cowboys would do “anything to win.” However, after watching Rush perform well in Prescott’s absence, Bradshaw expressed his opinion that Rush was more deserving of the starting role. The team is now considering drafting a new quarterback in the 2025 draft, with owner Jerry Jones stating that getting a young quarterback is one of their goals.

Prescott has expressed gratitude towards Rush on social media after his departure for the Ravens, while Rush signed a two-year contract valued at $6.2 million. The Cowboys’ last Super Bowl win was in 1996, and Bradshaw believes that Prescott’s attitude and stats do not match the level required to win a championship.
