Dez Bryant and Roc Nation are accusing Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones of being “disrespectful” for dragging them into the negotiations surrounding Pro Bowl edge rusher Micah Parsons.
Bryant made comments on Saturday rehashing his own 2015 contract negotiations with the team, which included a five-year deal worth $70 million before he was released in 2018. Jones had brought up Bryant’s name during a press conference while discussing Parsons’ recent trade request.
However, Jones claimed that he and Roc Nation Sports (run by Jay-Z) negotiated a contract without Bryant being present. He said Jay-Z told him that anyone in his organization would be on time for meetings and that he himself was always early. But according to Roc Nation, this is not true – the entire negotiation took place at the 21 Club over a napkin.
Roc Nation has released a statement refuting Jones’ claims, saying they are “a false statement and comical”. The situation has left fans wondering what other secrets might be hidden behind closed doors in Cowboys negotiations.
