Cowboys Re-sign Defensive Tackle Osa Odighizuwa

The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa with a four-year deal worth $80 million. The contract includes $58 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus, according to Odighizuwa’s agent. The move is expected to create more salary cap space for the team.

Odighizuwa, 26, was a top target in free agency but will stay with the Cowboys due to a scheme change under new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. “He’s a homegrown guy who we think is a really good football player,” said executive vice president Stephen Jones.

The deal keeps Odighizuwa, a third-round pick in 2021, with the team without using the franchise tag. The Cowboys had previously re-signed quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to long-term deals. The team is now expected to focus on signing star pass rusher Micah Parsons to a long-term contract.

Odighizuwa has played 67 consecutive games, making him a reliable option for the Cowboys’ defense. He recorded a career-high 4.5 sacks and 47 tackles in 2024. The team’s salary cap situation is a concern with several players set to hit free agency, including DeMarcus Lawrence and cornerback Jourdan Lewis.
