The Dallas Cowboys are set to adopt a new approach in free agency this offseason. According to executive vice president Stephen Jones, the team will be “selectively aggressive” in signing players, considering their limited resources and priorities.
After a 7-10 record in 2024, the Cowboys looked to make changes, but their first phase of free agency was relatively underwhelming, with only two signings. This offseason, however, seems different. Jones emphasized the team’s commitment to improvement, stating they will “try” to improve their football team and expect success next year.
While it remains to be seen which players the Cowboys will sign, a more strategic approach is expected. The team has signed linebackers Eric Kendricks and running back Royce Freeman in previous free agency periods, but these signings may not necessarily translate to active roster spots on game day. This shift in strategy suggests the Cowboys are seeking to make more targeted additions this time around.
