Cowboys Sign Osa Odighizuwa to Four-Year Deal Worth $80 Million

The Dallas Cowboys have signed defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa to a four-year contract worth $80 million, according to a source with knowledge of the deal. The terms differ from the leaked report that claimed the deal was worth $80 million with $58 million guaranteed.

Under the agreement, Odighizuwa will receive a signing bonus of $19.75 million and have his 2025 base salary of $1.75 million fully guaranteed. If he fails to meet the offseason workout requirement, $500,000 from his salary can be de-escalated. For the next three years, Odighizuwa’s active per-game roster bonus will be up to $500,000.

Odighizuwa’s total compensation over four years is estimated at $39 million, with a guaranteed total injury guarantee of $52 million. If he satisfies the workout obligation and remains on the active roster for all 17 regular-season games in 2025, he’ll earn $22 million that year, which is less than the $25.12 million he would have made if tagged.

The Cowboys can exit the deal after two years. With this contract, Odighizuwa opted to take the lower guaranteed value instead of risking a larger amount in 2026 and potentially facing the open market next March. The decision highlights the player’s strategic approach, as even without the tag, he would have needed to make only $13.88 million in 2026 to break even.
