Cowboys Star Micah Parsons Speaks Out on Coach McCarthy’s Departure

Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons expressed his disappointment and sadness over the departure of head coach Mike McCarthy, calling it “devastating”. Parsons cited their good relationships with McCarthy and his contributions to the team, including three consecutive 12-5 seasons and playoff appearances.

However, Parsons acknowledged that McCarthy’s five-year tenure was ending without a new deal, citing injuries as a factor. The team finished this season with a 7-10 record, which included home flops in the wild-card round against the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers.

Parsons expressed trust in Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and general manager Will McClay to make the right decisions for the coaching position. He also mentioned that he has been informed about talks with former Cowboys cornerback Deion Sanders, who is currently coaching in Colorado, as a potential candidate for the team’s next head coach.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott also reacted to McCarthy’s departure, saying he was “bummed” but acknowledged that the two sides couldn’t reach an agreement. McCarthy will interview with the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints for their vacant head-coaching positions.
