Cowboys To Replace Zack Martin: Options Galore

After 11 years as a cornerstone of the Cowboys’ offense line, Zack Martin is expected to retire. Replacing him will be no easy task, but coach Brian Schottenheimer and his staff have several options in mind.

Tyler Smith, an All-Pro caliber player on the left side of the line, has already shown he can perform at a high level. However, finding his perfect complement will be crucial for the team’s success.

In-house options, such as Brock Hoffman and T.J. Bass, are being considered to fill Martin’s giant shoes. Hoffman has started six games at right guard and has praised Martin’s influence on his game. Bass, who played time at both left guard and right guard, is also in the mix.

For those outside of the team, the Cowboys could draft a new right guard prospect in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft. Tyler Booker from Alabama, Donovan Jackson from Ohio State, and Tate Ratledge from Georgia are three top prospects to watch. Each brings unique skills to the table, with Booker excelling at pushing forward in the run game, Jackson providing versatility, and Ratledge showcasing experience.

Another dark horse possibility is Cooper Beebe moving from center to guard. Coach Conor Riley’s comments on Beebe’s versatility have sparked interest, and with his mother’s help in preparing him for the position, he could be a valuable asset at guard or center.

With the new coaching staff and potential roster changes, the Cowboys are poised to assemble one of the best fronts five in the league. As they move forward, they’ll need to work together to find the perfect fit for Zack Martin’s replacement.
