Cowboys Training Camp Update: Standouts, Injuries, and Position Battles Emerge

The Dallas Cowboys’ training camp is underway, with team reporters providing updates on key players, position battles, and injuries. Coach Brian Schottenheimer has emphasized the need for professionalism and discipline on the field, after a brief scuffle broke out between safety Markquese Bell and tight end Tyler Neville.

Notable performances include second-round pick Donovan Ezeiruaku, who impressed with his ability to hold ground against the run and the pass. Cornerback DaRon Bland sat out Wednesday’s practice due to awaiting the birth of his child, while Andrew Booth Jr. and Caelen Carson saw time with the first team.

WR George Pickens suffered a brief scare after going down with what appeared to be cramps in his left calf, but was able to walk off on his own. The team has taken precautions with him, but there is no immediate cause for concern.

The defense has been aggressive, with CB Kaiir Elam making an impressive pick on Dak Prescott and LB Jack Sanborn forcing a fumble. DE Marshawn Kneeland came up with a key fumble recovery, while WR Jonathan Mingo caught a diving touchdown pass.

Position battles are also heating up, particularly at running back, where Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders will face stiff competition once pads come on. Trevon Diggs has been doing his rehab work without restrictions, showing progress in his knee rehabilitation.

As the team continues to fine-tune its roster, stay tuned for further updates from Cowboys camp.
