Cracker Barrel Responds to Fan Backlash Over New Logo and Design

Cracker Barrel has responded to the backlash from fans over its recent redesign efforts. The restaurant chain, founded in 1969, acknowledged that it could have done a better job sharing its brand identity. In a statement shared on its website, Cracker Barrel expressed gratitude for the “heartfelt voices” of its customers and promised to keep some classic elements.

The changes, which included a modernized country theme, minimalist logo change, and updated seating and lighting, were intended to refresh the chain’s image while maintaining its core values. However, critics voiced their displeasure on social media, and Cracker Barrel’s stock even dropped by 13% last week.

Cracker Barrel CEO Julie Felss Masino had previously stated that the company needed to modernize its restaurants and stores to appeal to a new generation of customers. The soul of Cracker Barrel remains unchanged, with classic elements such as stone fireplaces, taxidermy deer heads, and traditional dishes like meatloaf and chicken n’ dumplings still on offer.

The company has vowed not to abandon its core values of hard work, family, and scratch-cooked food made with care. Instead, it promises to continue serving generous portions of classic food at fair prices while maintaining the country hospitality that sets it apart.
