Rachel Bloom, co-creator and star of the hit CW series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Colin Hanks, co-creator and star of the Paramount+ show Colin From Accounts, are set to join Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and director David Frankel in the highly anticipated sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2.
The original film follows Miranda Priestly, played by Streep, as she competes with her former assistant Emily Charlton (Blunt) for ad revenue. In the sequel, Bloom will star alongside Hanks in a new cast of characters, including Kenneth Branagh and Lucy Liu.
Production is underway for a May 1, 2026 theatrical release, with original producers Wendy Finerman and Karen Rosenfelt returning. The sequel marks a reunion between Bloom and co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna, who also created Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
Bloom has recently appeared in various TV shows and films, including HBO Max’s Julia and the Paramount+ reboot of Frasier. She will be starring with a new cast in the upcoming Muppets Mayhem Musical Series on Disney+. Hanks’ recent credits include the Gotham TV Award-winning series Colin From Accounts.
The film’s original producers and director are returning for the sequel, which promises to bring back the drama and style that made the original a hit. With Bloom and Hanks joining the cast, fans of both Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Colin From Accounts will be excited to see their favorite stars take on new roles in The Devil Wears Prada 2.
