Cryptocurrency experts are predicting a record-breaking year for the market in 2025, with Bitcoin and Ethereum reaching new all-time highs. According to Steno Research, the spot prices of these two major cryptocurrencies will surpass $150,000 and $8,000, respectively.
The analysts attribute their optimism to a favorable regulatory environment, declining interest rates, improved liquidity, and historically strong performance following Bitcoin’s halving events. Additionally, they expect institutional adoption to reach unprecedented levels, driven by significant inflows into U.S.-based Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Steno Research forecasts that these ETFs will see net inflows of $48 billion and $28.5 billion in 2025, respectively. The experts also predict a broader alternative cryptocurrency season, with the ETH/BTC ratio expected to hit at least 0.06 in 2025.
This increased adoption is seen as a positive development for altcoins like Ethereum, which is poised to outperform Bitcoin in 2025. The analysts attribute this growth to the argument that Donald Trump’s U.S. presidential victory will be more favorable for altcoins than for Bitcoin.
The total value locked (TVL) in decentralized applications is expected to top $300 billion in 2025, far surpassing 2021’s highs of approximately $180 billion. Other experts, including asset manager Grayscale, are similarly optimistic, citing a warming US policy environment as a key factor.
