Stephen Curry led Team OGs to a convincing 41-25 win over Global Stars in Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game, cementing his status as the league’s all-time 3-point leader. The Golden State Warriors star scored 12 points, including two clutch 3-pointers from half court, to lead his team to an overwhelming victory.
The format change, which splits the 24 players into teams of eight and adds a fourth team of first- and second-year players, seems to have reinvigorated the game. “I think it was a good step in the right direction to reinvigorate the game,” Curry said. The new structure doesn’t allow for an obvious MVP candidate to stand out, as seen with Jayson Tatum’s 15-point scoring total.
Other players praised Curry’s performance, including teammate Kyrie Irving, who noted that once Curry hit his first 3-pointer, “basically every time we were looking for him.” The win marked the second All-Star MVP award of Curry’s career and made him the 17th player in league history to achieve this feat while hosting the event.
