Cut Butter from Diet to Slash Risk of Early Death

A new study has found that consuming butter can increase the risk of premature death, while plant-based oils like olive oil may lower this risk. Researchers analyzed data from over 221,000 adults and found a link between butter consumption and increased mortality risk. Those with the highest butter intake showed a 15% greater risk of death, compared to those with the lowest intake. Conversely, increasing plant-based oil consumption was associated with a 16% lower risk of death. Substituting just 10g of butter per day with plant-based oils could lead to a 17% reduction in overall mortality and cancer death.
