CVS Health Ditches ACA Plans, Citing Financial Losses

CVS Health has announced it will stop selling its Aetna health plans in the Affordable Care Act’s individual marketplaces by 2026, marking the second time in a decade that Aetna has abandoned ACA coverage. The decision is expected to leave approximately 1 million enrollees in 17 states without access to new health insurance options for next year. This move comes amid financial losses of up to $400 million for CVS in its ACA plans, prompting the company to set aside an additional $448 million for medical claims.
