A major cyber attack has hit Jaguar Land Rover, causing production to grind to a halt and losses estimated at £50m per week. The attack, which occurred in late August, resulted in the loss of more than a month’s worth of worldwide production. Analysts estimate that the financial damage will be painful but not fatal for JLR. However, with similar attacks hitting other high-profile businesses, such as Marks & Spencer and the Co-op, the question remains: just how much are these cyber attacks costing UK businesses and the economy?
