Dallas Mavericks Assistant Coach Darrell Armstrong Arrested for Aggravated Assault

Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Darrell Armstrong has been arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Dallas Police Department. The team has suspended an employee in connection with the incident.

Armstrong, 56, was arguing with another person when he allegedly hit them with a gun and threatened to shoot. The victim was treated at the scene by fire rescue services. Armstrong posted bail after being booked on Saturday morning.

The Mavericks confirmed they were aware of the incident and have placed an employee on administrative suspension pending the outcome of the legal proceedings. An NBA spokesperson is also gathering information from the team.
