Amazon MGM Studios has taken full creative control of the James Bond franchise, buying out the Broccoli family, who have been stewards of the franchise since 1962. Longtime producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are stepping down from their roles.
In a statement to Variety, Daniel Craig expressed his respect and admiration for Barbara and Michael, wishing Michael a “long, relaxing” retirement. Barbara noted that her focus will shift to other projects following her retirement from the films.
Craig has previously stated he doesn’t care about who succeeds him as Bond. The move marks a new era in the franchise’s history, with Amazon MGM Studios at the helm.
