Daniel Day-Lewis Returns to Acting After Eight Years

Actor Daniel Day-Lewis has released the first trailer for his upcoming drama Anemone, marking his screen comeback after a hiatus of eight years. The film is directed by Ronan Day-Lewis, his 27-year-old son and co-writer.

The story follows two brothers who served as British paramilitaries in Northern Ireland in the late 1980s and explores the complex ties between fathers, sons, and brothers. Anemone premiered at a top-tier film festival in October, showcasing the latest production from Brad Pitt’s Plan B outfit.

Day-Lewis won three Oscars for his acting roles, including My Left Foot, Lincoln, and There Will Be Blood. The actor had previously stepped away from acting in 1997 to pursue a career as a shoemaker before returning with Martin Scorsese on Gangs of New York in 2002.

The trailer gives fans a glimpse into the film’s themes and tone, promising a powerful exploration of brotherly bonds and personal identity. With Day-Lewis back behind the camera, audiences are eagerly anticipating the film’s release and the opportunity to see him take on this new role once again.
