Dannielynn Birkhead paid tribute to her late mother, Anna Nicole Smith, by wearing a vintage black gown that Anna wore to the Barnstable Brown Gala 21 years ago. The 18-year-old was accompanied by her father Larry Birkhead at the event, continuing their annual tradition that began 15 years ago.
The duo’s attendance was a last-minute choice in 2010, when they first started attending together after Dannielynn could walk and do things on her own. Since then, it has become a special bonding experience between them.
This year’s look featured the same backless black gown that Anna wore to the event, as well as a loose updo. The father-daughter duo was also joined by Larry’s niece Chloe at the event. In a humorous post on Instagram, Larry joked about not embarrassing his daughter with his dance moves.
The tradition of attending the Kentucky Derby together has become an important part of Dannielynn and Larry’s special bond. It is just one of many ways they share their love and memories of Anna Nicole Smith, who passed away in 2007.
