Former baseball star David Justice spoke out about his past relationship with actress Halle Berry, revealing what led to their divorce in 1997. The two married in 1993 but cited “irreconcilable differences” after four years together.
Justice explained that he was inexperienced in relationships at the time and had unrealistic expectations for a wife, thinking she should cook, clean, and be a mother figure. As they started having issues, Justice said Berry didn’t meet these expectations.
The couple’s divorce was finalized in June 1997. Justice credits their relationship with ending when Berry didn’t fulfill his expectations. He also mentioned that the two “probably could have made it” if they had attended therapy sessions together.
Justice is now married to businesswoman Rebecca Villalobos, while Berry has been linked to musician Van Hunt since her divorce.
