David Lynch, the renowned filmmaker, has left behind a lasting legacy as his family shares heartfelt words in memory of him. The late artist passed away on January 16 at the age of 78, leaving behind four children, Jennifer, Austin, Riley, and Lula.
The family invited fans to join a worldwide group meditation on what would have been Lynch’s 79th birthday on Monday, January 20, at 12:00pm PST for 10 minutes. The meditation aims to honor his legacy by spreading peace and love across the world.
Born into four marriages, Jennifer shared her father with first wife Peggy Reavey, Austin with second wife Mary Fisk, Riley with third wife Mary Sweeney, and youngest daughter Lula in 2012 with ex-wife Emily Stofle.
Lynch was a celebrated filmmaker, known for creating iconic series like Twin Peaks and films such as The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, and Mulholland Drive. He also directed several other notable movies.
In one of his final interviews, Lynch spoke about the importance of unity and cooperation in addressing America’s divisions. “People in the United States are divided… We need to be getting along together,” he said.
The family has asked for privacy at this time, but they welcomed fans to join the meditation, saying, “It’s a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way.”
