DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran have announced updates on various projects. The pair is in pre-production on the animated feature film “Dynamic Duo,” which follows Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, two Robins. This project aims to introduce family audiences to the world of Gotham.
Gunn and Safran also confirmed the development of an animated “Blue Beetle” series, building upon events from the 2023 live-action film. Executive producers Angel Manuel Soto and Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer are set to present their project for a possible greenlight in the near future.
Three new animated series have been greenlit by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios:
– “My Adventures with Green Lantern,” an animated series following Jessica Cruz, who becomes the champion of a fallen Green Lantern Power Ring.
– “DC Super Powers,” which focuses on new students at the Alliance School for Heroes as they level up their powers under Principal Martian Manhunter’s supervision.
– “Starfire,” an origin story for the Teen Titans character, where she explores the stars and meets other characters in the DC universe.
Additionally, James Gunn confirmed a series of four Krypto seasonal shorts, scheduled to release in Fall 2025. These shorts are described as fun, goofy, and suitable for families, with no clear indication of whether they will be live-action or animation.
