Death Clock inventor Brent Franson created an AI program to predict when users will die, but he didn’t want to be afraid of it. His main fear was Alzheimer’s disease, a condition that causes the brain to deteriorate. When his app predicted he could die from it, Franson made a major lifestyle change to reduce his risk.
Franson had developed habits that led to poor sleep, including using sedatives and working long hours. To reverse his fate, he prioritized sleep by creating a routine, banning mobile phones in bed, setting a regular bedtime of 9:30pm, and removing alcohol from his diet. Experts say this approach can reduce dementia risk.
After making these changes, Franson’s life expectancy increased by nine years. While Alzheimer’s was still a possible cause, other risks like cardiovascular disease and cancer were reduced. By tackling his fears and making lifestyle changes, Franson took control of his health and mortality.
