Deebo Samuel Ready to Rebound with Commanders

San Francisco tradeee Deebo Samuel is looking to shake off his recent downward trend with a fresh start in Washington. In an introductory press conference, Samuel expressed his motivation and determination to regain form.

“I’m very motivated,” he said. “I’m just ready to get back to work.” The 29-year-old receiver acknowledged being overweight and out of shape last season, but claims to have slimmed down and is now focused on getting in top physical condition.

Samuel’s new team, the Commanders, has shown faith in him by guaranteeing his $17 million salary and adding $3 million in incentives. He believes this investment reflects their confidence in him as a playmaker. “It just kind of shows what they think,” he said.

The move comes after Samuel struggled under Kyle Shanahan’s offense last season, with sideline outbursts and complaints about usage. However, the presence of quarterback Jayden Daniels and receiver Terry McLaurin provides an appealing opportunity for the receiver to thrive in Kliff Kingsbury’s offense.

For Samuel, joining a strong team like Washington was a major draw. “It’s close to home, a really good team, and a really good quarterback,” he said. If he can reestablish himself as a top receiver, the Commanders will have a formidable one-two combo.
