Deel Uses AI to Boost Recruitment Efficiency by 90%

Deel, a payroll solutions company, is revolutionizing its recruitment process with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). The company receives around 2 million applications for its 3,000 roles each year, making it a daunting task for recruiters.

To overcome this challenge, Deel has focused on training AI to act as a mentor and coach for recruiters, rather than relying on the technology alone to make hiring decisions. By doing so, the company aims to reduce the volatility in decision-making and give recruiters more data and insight to make informed choices.

One key strategy is using AI to score applicants against 15 tailored criteria, allowing recruiters to filter out weaker candidates quickly. This has resulted in a significant reduction of recruiter hours spent reviewing CVs by up to 90%, saving an estimated 27,000 hours per year.

The impact of this approach has been substantial. With the use of AI, Deel has seen:

– A 33% increase in monthly hires with the same-sized team
– A drop in recruiter calls per hire
– An 89% offer acceptance rate

Deel’s Global Head of Talent Acquisition, Alan Price, believes that using AI to ‘mentor’ interviewers is a game-changer. By reviewing recordings, transcriptions, and analysis of key performance metrics, the technology provides valuable insights for recruiters.

The use of AI has also enabled Deel to improve candidate experience and employee value proposition (EVP). Recruiters are now able to build relationships with candidates more efficiently, reducing admin time and allowing them to focus on high-value work.
