DeepRoute.ai Secures $100M Funding for Autonomous Driving Push in China

Shenzhen-based autonomous driving startup DeepRoute.ai has secured $100 million from an unidentified Chinese automaker. The company aims to deploy its automated driving systems in over 200,000 vehicles in China by the end of 2025. This is a significant increase from the 20,000 vehicles it currently supports.

Tesla’s recent move to launch Full Self-Driving (FSD) in China has prompted DeepRoute.ai to accelerate its own plans. The company plans to unveil two new vehicle models with its system later this year, including one co-owned by Geely and Mercedes-Benz.

DeepRoute generates revenue through technology licensing fees per car and collects data to improve its AI capabilities. With this funding, the startup is well-positioned to challenge Tesla’s dominance in China’s autonomous driving market.
