Deion Sanders Predicts Shedeur, Travis Hunter for Top 2 Picks

Deion Sanders, the head coach of Colorado, is predicting that quarterback Shedeur Sanders and cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter will be the first two players drafted in the upcoming NFL draft. According to Sanders, they are the top two prospects and should go 1-2 in the draft.

Sanders was among those who spoke with Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslam during a Pro Day event on Friday. He described Haslam as “engaging” and believes that one of the two players will be available at No. 2 if the Browns stay put.

The prediction comes as many regard Miami quarterback Cam Ward as the top overall prospect, but Shedeur and Hunter are right in contention for the top spot. History suggests that it would be in their best interests to land with better organizations, but Sanders acknowledges the NFL’s current sorting-hat approach, which strips players of control over the draft process.

Shedeur and Travis have shown confidence in their abilities to transform lost franchises. However, there is a risk that being too young or unwilling to accept the status quo could lead to criticism if they try to buck it.
