Deion Sanders Struggles with Health Issues Again

Colorado football coach Deion Sanders is currently dealing with an unspecified health issue at home in Texas, according to ESPN. The 57-year-old coach was away from campus as the school’s annual summer football camps began last week.

Sanders’ oldest son, Deion Jr., revealed that his father was “feeling well” in a recent livestream on YouTube, but there is no set timeline for his return. When asked when Sanders would return to Boulder, Deion Jr. stated, “When we get back to Boulder? I don’t know. I’m waiting until my dad leaves. When he leaves, then I’ll go. Until then, I’m going to sit here with him.”

Colorado’s season is set to begin at home against Georgia Tech on August 29th. The Buffaloes finished the previous season with a record of 9-4, despite losing two high-profile players to the NFL draft.

This marks the latest health setback for Sanders, who has dealt with blood clots in the past. In 2022, he had two toes amputated due to complications from blood clots. He also missed the Pac-12 media day in 2023 after experiencing blood clots in his legs.
