India is set to launch direct flights from Delhi to Manila on October 1, marking a significant step towards increasing tourism and business interactions between the two nations. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced the plan, which comes after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr’s state visit to India.
The announcement includes visa-free entry for Indian tourists traveling to the Philippines, as well as free e-visas for Filipino tourists visiting India. These reciprocal moves are aimed at boosting people-to-people contacts and trade between the two countries.
Direct flights from Delhi will be operated by Air India, with the initial route expected to connect the two cities. The move is seen as a key initiative to enhance regional connectivity and strengthen economic ties between India and the Philippines.
