DeLorean Revival: Lynx Motors Unveils Electric DMC-12 Reimagining

In a move that combines nostalgia with innovation, Lynx Motors has announced the launch of the DMC-EV, an electric reimagining of the iconic DeLorean DMC-12. This modern take on the 1980s classic combines its legendary design with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology.

The exterior retains the original’s sleek lines and evokes memories of the 1980s, but updates include LED lighting at the front and rear, larger transparent panels, and updated badging featuring both Lynx and DMC-EV logos. The car also features larger wheels and customizable side skirts and bumpers for a personalized touch.

The interior has been completely overhauled to meet modern standards, with a large touchscreen display spanning the dashboard, high-quality leather seats, and a wireless phone charger and rotary dial on the center console. The steering wheel features carbon fiber accents and perforated leather for an enhanced driving experience.

Under the hood, the DMC-EV is powered by four in-wheel electric motors, delivering all-wheel drive and optimal performance. A 70kWh CATL battery pack provides a range of approximately 402 kilometers on a single charge, with a 0-to-60 mph time of under four seconds. The vehicle also features Tesla’s NACS charging port for access to the Supercharger network in the United States.

Reservations are now open for the DMC-EV, with a starting deposit of $2,500 USD. While pricing is not yet finalized, ranging from $249,999 to $299,500 USD, demand is expected to be high. Deliveries will begin next year, joining the GT1e electric restomod based on the 2005 Ford GT in Lynx’s lineup.
