Delta Airlines is adding a new international route from its hub in Austin, Texas, marking the carrier’s latest expansion in its growing network.
The airline has announced a new nonstop service to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, set to launch on June 2. This move will complement Delta’s existing operations in the Caribbean and further solidify its presence in the Pacific Northwest.
Frontier Airlines is also set to expand its international route map this summer, adding two new airports to its network: Paine Field Airport in Everett, Washington, and Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The airline will launch service from these airports to Denver, Las Vegas, and Phoenix, with each route operating three times per week.
Additionally, Frontier is growing its Caribbean service with a new nonstop route between Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Puerto Plata. This service, subject to government approval, will begin on June 19 and operate twice weekly.
Delta’s expansion into the Pacific Northwest is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its network and provide affordable travel options to more people. The airline has recently announced new services to Oranjestad, Aruba, and San Pedro Sula, Honduras, both operating from Atlanta.
As the aviation industry continues to evolve, airlines are increasingly looking to expand their international routes and offerings. With these recent additions, Delta and Frontier Airlines are positioning themselves for continued growth and success in the market.
