A Delta Air Lines flight from Boston to New Orleans was forced to return to Boston on Sunday morning due to a “smoky odor” detected in the cabin. The Airbus A220 aircraft, carrying 87 passengers and crew, took off at around 8:48 a.m. ET before making an emergency landing at Boston Logan International Airport.
According to Delta, the flight crew followed established procedures and landed safely, with emergency response personnel on standby. The airline apologized for the delay in travel and expressed concern for its customers’ safety. CNN is seeking further information from the Massachusetts Port Authority, which owns and operates the airport.
