Delta Plane Makes Emergency Return Due to ‘Haze’ Inside Aircraft

A Delta flight from Atlanta to Columbia was forced to make an emergency return after passengers spotted a strange substance, described as “haze”, inside the plane. The Boeing 717 aircraft carried 99 people, including two pilots and three flight attendants.

The incident occurred when video footage sent to local news showed a smoke-like substance on board, prompting passengers to cover their mouths and noses. Delta Airlines deployed slides after landing, allowing all passengers to exit the plane safely.

According to Delta, the crew followed standard procedures to return to Atlanta, prioritizing passenger safety above all else. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will investigate the incident.

This is not the first time a Delta flight has encountered an emergency situation; another Delta flight from Los Angeles to Sydney experienced engine trouble earlier this year and made an emergency landing.
