Amazon MGM Studios has announced that French filmmaker Denis Villeneuve will direct the next James Bond movie. Villeneuve, known for his work on films like “Dune” and “Arrival,” is a self-proclaimed die-hard Bond fan who has expressed his excitement about taking on the iconic role.
In a statement, Villeneuve called the project a “massive responsibility” but also an “incredibly exciting” opportunity. He aims to honor the tradition of James Bond while opening the path for new stories and characters.
Tanya Lapointe will serve as executive producer, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman joining as producers. This marks the first Bond movie since Amazon MGM Studios gained creative control of the franchise in partnership with longtime 007 producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
The latest Bond film, “No Time to Die,” concluded Daniel Craig’s tenure as James Bond, but no word has been announced on who will play the character next. With Villeneuve at the helm, fans eagerly await his take on the beloved spy franchise.
