Detroit Lions 2025 Training Camp Roster Projection

The 2025 Detroit Lions training camp is just around the corner, and with it comes another edition of our 53-man roster projection. Jeremy Reisman and I will be collaborating on this projection, debating and discussing where each player sits on the roster.

Quarterbacks:
Jared Goff, Hendon Hooker, Kyle Allen
The battle for the second QB spot is expected to continue, with both Hooker and Allen competing for a roster spot.

Running Backs:
Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, Craig Reynolds, Sione Vaki, Kye Robichaux, Jabari Small
The RB room appears well-established, with the top four backs returning from last year. A fifth back will likely compete for the remaining spot.

Wide Receivers:
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Tim Patrick, Kalif Raymond, Isaac TeSlaa, Dominic Lovett, Ronnie Bell, Malik Taylor, Jakobie Keeney-James
The WR room is deep and talented, with several young players vying for a spot on the roster.

Tight Ends:
Sam LaPorta, Brock Wright, Shane Zylstra, Kenny Yeboah, Zach Horton, Luke Deal
The TE3 job will be up for grabs this year, with Zylstra expected to win out due to his growth and development with the team.

Offensive Tackles:
Penei Sewell, Taylor Decker, Dan Skipper, Giovanni Manu, Colby Sorsdal, Jamarco Jones
Manu’s developmental progress will play a significant role in determining if the Lions stick with four or five tackles.

Interior Offensive Line:
Graham Glasgow, Christian Mahogany, Tate Ratledge, Miles Frazier, Kayode Awosika, Michael Niese
The OL is expected to be revamped, with Awosika and Niese potentially competing for a spot on the roster.

Defensive Ends:
Aidan Hutchinson, Marcus Davenport, Josh Paschal, Al-Quadin Muhammad, Ahmad Hassanein, Mitchell Agude, Nate Lynn, Keith Cooper
Paschal’s performance will be crucial this year, as he looks to replace Levi Onwuzurike and contribute to the team’s edge.

Defensive Tackles:
DJ Reader, Tyleik Williams, Roy Lopez, Mekhi Wingo, Pat O’Connor, Brodric Martin, Chris Smith, Myles Adams
The DT room will undergo significant changes due to Alim McNeill’s injury, which has opened up a spot for Pat O’Connor.

Linebackers:
Alex Anzalone, Jack Campbell, Derrick Barnes, Grant Stuard, Trevor Nowaske, Ezekiel Turner, Anthony Pittman, Zach Cunningham, DaRon Gilbert
The LB room is well-established, with the top three starters returning. A fifth back will likely compete for a roster spot.

Cornerbacks:
Terrion Arnold, D.J. Reed, Amik Robertson, Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Khalil Dorsey, Rock Ya-Sin, Stantley Thomas Oliver, Tyson Russell, DiCaprio Bootle
The CB room is deep, with several young players vying for a spot on the roster.

Safeties:
Brian Branch, Kerby Joseph, Avonte Maddox, Dan Jackson, Morice Norris, Loren Strickland, Erick Hallett, Ian Kennelly
Norris’s versatility and skillset make him an attractive option for a fifth safety.

Specialists:
Jack Fox (P), Jake Bates (K), Hogan Hatten (LS)

With training camp practices set to begin on Sunday, we’ll be updating our projection throughout the season. Stay tuned for further updates and analysis from Jeremy Reisman and me.
