Comedian Devon Walker has announced his departure from “Saturday Night Live,” citing the need for change after three seasons on the show. In a series of Instagram posts, Walker reflected on his time at “SNL,” describing it as a “bunch of little marriages” that often ended abruptly.
Walker recalled both enjoyable and toxic moments during his time on the show, stating that he and the writers made the most of their time together despite the dysfunction. He thanked fellow writers Alex English and Gary Richardson, with whom he collaborated on the comedy show DAD at New York’s Jane Hotel.
Walker announced plans to move to Japan and pursue a role in a prestige drama, with an ideal collaboration with actress Julianne Moore. He reassured fans that his departure is a positive development, stating it was time for him to explore new opportunities and emphasizing that he does not want sympathy or condolences from the public.
