DHL Halts $800+ Shipments Due to US Customs Rules

DHL has stopped shipping packages valued over $800 to U.S. consumers due to new, stricter customs rules implemented by the Trump administration. The carrier cites the 10% tariffs and increased scrutiny of parcels worth more than $800, leading to shipping backlogs and delays.

The change follows President Trump’s effort to overhaul the government’s global trade policy, including closing a loophole that allows goods under a certain value to enter the US without import fees or inspections. This move will significantly impact e-commerce retailers shipping low-cost goods to the US.

As of Monday, DHL will no longer ship packages over $800 from any foreign country to U.S. consumers. However, business-to-business shipments valued over $800 will still be allowed, but may face delays. The policy change is expected to lead to multi-day delays for parcels worth more than $800.
