DHL Halts US Parcel Shipments Amid US Customs Duties

Germany’s DHL has suspended shipment of standard parcels to the US, citing new customs duties on low-value packages. The move follows similar actions by European peers. US President Donald Trump’s administration will scrap the “de minimis” exemption for international shipments under $800, effective August 29. Private customers can still send gifts worth less than $100 via standard parcel, but with stricter controls to prevent misuse. Premium service DHL Express remains unaffected.
