DHL has resumed global shipments from businesses to American consumers worth more than $800 after a brief suspension earlier this month. The company had temporarily halted business-to-consumer (B2C) shipments in April due to new US customs regulations requiring formal processing for entries above $800.
The change in threshold, down from $2,500, has led to a surge in formal customs clearances, which DHL is handling around the clock. However, the company has since worked with US authorities, including the Department of Commerce, to optimize customs regulations.
Effective immediately, DHL will accept B2C shipments with declared values exceeding $800 into the US. This resumption comes as other disruptions affecting Americans continue, including Hong Kong’s postal service suspending packages going to and from the US due to expiring tariffs exemptions.
