Dichen Lachman, the actress behind the dual roles of Miss Casey and Gemma in the hit show Severance, recently shared her take on the explosive ending to season 2. The episode’s twist, which sees Mark Scout (Adam Scott) reunite with his wife Gemma after completing a crucial project at Lumon Industries, left fans stunned.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Lachman revealed that she had read the episode before filming began and was aware of the potential for a dramatic reaction. She praised the show’s dedicated fan base, noting their intense investment in characters like Helly R. (Britt Lower) and Mark S.’s outie relationship.
For Lachman, playing Gemma was a highlight of her season 2 experience. “It was so wonderful because so much of Gemma for so long had just been little fragments,” she said. “To really live in that space and lean into that emotional anchor for Mark, outie Mark, it was really exciting.”
The actress also acknowledged the pressure to deliver a satisfying performance, given the show’s global fan base and attention to detail. When asked about a potential season 3, Lachman expressed hope and enthusiasm, praising creator Dan Erickson’s talent.
“It really keeps your attention like nothing else out there,” she concluded. “It’s almost like going on a ride to me. I feel like it’s different watching Severance.”
