Sean “Diddy” Combs appeared in court on Friday, where he faced three new allegations of sexual abuse. The rapper pleaded not guilty to the allegations, but his appearance has sparked concerns about his mental and physical well-being.
Combs’ lawyers recently claimed that a viral surveillance video showing him abusing his ex-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura had been altered and destroyed. However, CNN denied these claims, stating that they still possess the original footage.
The alleged abuse took place between 2004 and 2024, with Combs facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He is also accused of forcing employees to work long hours and threatening them if they refused.
Combs’ lawyers claimed that CNN had altered the video by editing it using free software, but a CNN spokesperson denied these allegations, stating that the original footage remains intact.
The rapper’s trial has been pushed back by a week, with opening statements scheduled for May 12. If convicted on the top charge, Combs could face up to life in prison.
Despite his team’s efforts to discredit the video, many are concerned about Combs’ mental state. His appearance in court, wearing a tan prison jumpsuit and sporting gray hair and beard, sparked comments from observers that he looked “bloated” and “old.”
