Diddy Indicted on Federal Charges Over Allegations of Sex Trafficking and Rape

Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy, is facing federal charges related to allegations of sex trafficking, rape, and racketeering. The 64-year-old entrepreneur was indicted in September 2024 on charges including sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering.

Combs’ case took a dramatic turn last year when model and singer Cassie Ventura filed a civil lawsuit against him, alleging he physically abused her for over a decade. She claimed Combs forced her to have sex with male sex workers while he masturbated and filmed them. The lawsuit was settled privately in one day, but Ventura’s allegations drew more attention, leading to a federal investigation.

Combs has been accused of using his music label and businesses to coerce women into commercial sex acts. Prosecutors allege that members and associates of Combs’ Enterprise facilitated these encounters by booking hotel rooms and arranging travel for victims. The indictment also claims Combs used the recordings of these encounters as collateral to ensure the continued obedience and silence of the victims.

The case has drawn widespread attention, with many of the women who have come forward under the Adult Survivors Act claiming they were subjected to similar abuse. The trial is expected to begin in May 2024, with prosecutors presenting evidence that includes hotel surveillance video showing Combs physically abusing one of his accusers.
