Sean Combs, 55, is facing a sex trafficking trial in May and has been accused of sex crimes in at least 30 lawsuits. A Peacock documentary, ‘Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy’, explores his life and alleges that his mother’s parties throughout his childhood may have “desensitized” him to sex. Multiple sources, including childhood friends, say they were exposed to alcohol, drugs, and prostitution from a young age.
One friend, Tim “Dawg” Patterson, claimed that the parties in Combs’ Harlem home included people of all orientations and drug users, who would sometimes engage in explicit behavior. He wondered if the exposure could have contributed to Combs’ alleged troubles with sex.
Dr. Carolyn West, an expert on domestic violence and sex trafficking, stated that a “very sexualized environment” can shape one’s understanding of acceptable boundaries and lead to unresolved trauma. Her comments come as Combs’ legal team has criticized documentaries for spreading “unchecked claims” and promoting baseless conspiracy theories.
A separate docuseries, ‘The Fall of Diddy’, is set to premiere on ID Discovery in February, offering another perspective on the mogul’s life and controversies surrounding him.
