Diddy’s Sex Trafficking Trial Approaches on April 28

Sean “Diddy” Combs’s sex-trafficking trial is nearing its start, with jury selection set to begin on April 28. The 55-year-old hip-hop mogul faces five counts of charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Prosecutors claim Combs used his entertainment empire to create a “criminal enterprise” that included the abuse of women through violence.

Evidence found during raids of his homes in Miami and Los Angeles includes details of “Freak Offs,” days-long sex parties fueled by drugs. The charges against Combs relate to three victims, including former girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who filed a federal lawsuit against him last November. Despite settling with Ventura one day after her lawsuit was filed, the Feds investigated further and filed 63 lawsuits alleging abuse of minors and other claims against Combs.

The trial will proceed with opening statements from Combs’s team and prosecutors once jury selection is complete. For updates on the trial, sign up for our newsletter Court Appearances: United States v. Diddy.
